Kat’s Green Unakite Cross Charm Diffuser Beaded Bracelets are designed and personally handmade in very limited quantities, making them very unique.
Each Green Unakite Cross Charm Diffuser Beaded Bracelet includes two black lava beads, making them ideal to be used as a diffuser bracelet. Simply apply 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil on the lava bead to enjoy a beautiful scent throughout the day. Be sure to check out Kat’s targeted Essential Oil Blends.
Volcanic Lava Beads, earthy yet elegant, are completely natural. Each bead is completely unique, therefore no two are alike. Lava stones come from deep within the earth. They are formed when volcanoes erupt. Incredibly hot lava shoots out of the volcano and runs down the side. Once it cools and dries it becomes lava stone.
While lava stones are quite porous by nature, their tiny holes not only make them lightweight and comfortable to wear, more importantly, they allow them to soak up the beautiful aroma of an essential oil blend of your choice.
This unusual metamorphic rock is sometimes referred to as epidote/epidotized granite. Unakite comprises of green episode, pink orthoclase feldspar, clear quartz, potassium aluminum silicate, episode, and calcium aluminum iron silicate hydroxide.
Its appearance is sometimes described as moss-on-brick, which I think is quite accurate. It can contain shades of green and pink, salmon, terra cotta blotches, and even white speckles.
It has a hardness rating of 6-7, perfect for durable jewelry.
Named after the Unakas mountains (bordering eastern Tennesee and North Carolina), it can also be spotted on the beaches of Lake Superior and the rivers in Virginia. Deposits have also been found in Brazil, China, South Africa, and Sierra Leone.
How to care for Unakite
Please do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaning methods to clean your bracelet, it could discolor the stones. And while it is not a porous stone, it can be sensitive to cleaners. The best approach is to just use a soft cloth or brush with warm water and mild soap. Rinse, and pat dry, and let it finish air-drying.
Not just for jewelry! Unakite is used for architectural purposes as well. Its most prominent use is trimming on the front steps of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.!
‘For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him and for him
Beads are strung on an elastic stretch cord to ensure comfortable wear and durability. Most importantly the cords are glued with a strong adhesive to prevent breakage.
