Lava Beads

Each Black Jasper and Rhodonite bracelet includes at least one lava bead, making them ideal to be used as a diffuser bracelet.  Simply apply 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil on the lava bead to enjoy a beautiful scent throughout the day. Be sure to check out Kat’s targeted Essential Oil Blends.

Volcanic Lava Beads, earthy yet elegant, are completely natural.  Each bead is completely unique, therefore no two are alike.  Lava stones come from deep within the earth.  They are formed when volcanoes erupt.  Incredibly hot lava shoots out of the volcano and runs down the side.  Once it cools and dries it becomes lava stone.

While lava stones are quite porous by nature, their tiny holes not only make them lightweight and comfortable to wear, more importantly, they allow them to soak up the beautiful aroma of an essential oil blend of your choice.

Black Jasper Gemstone

Black Jasper, also know as Basanite or Blackstone, is one of the rarest and most sought after forms of Jasper.  It is an opaque, dense gemstone in the quartz (Chalcedony) family.

Black Jasper is found throughout the world.  Important deposits exist in Australia, Brazil, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Russia, the USA, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Jasper is a sought after gemstone for use in jewelry making.  Its appeal is its interesting color patterns and formations.  Though it can be a solid color, it is most often mottled, spotted, ringed, or striped.  What’s so unique about jasper is the variety of colors and patterns found throughout the different stones.

Jasper is an ancient gemstone, having been mentioned in the Bible and other classical sources.

While Jasper is quite common and affordable today, in ancient times it was regarded as a valuable stone.

First discovered in 1819 by Christopher F. Jasche, rhodonite was named for its rose color.

Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate, and member of the pyroxenoid group of minerals, crystallizing in the triclinic system.  Its variable composition often contains significant amounts of calcium, iron, and magnesium.  It commonly occurs as cleavable to compact masses with a rose-red color, often tending to brown because of surface oxidation.  Colors can vary from red, rose-pink, pink, brownish-red, red, orange, yellow, grey to completely black.  It has great wearability, making it a good choice to be used for jewelry.

In order to avoid scratching, rhodonite should be stored separately from other gems.  To clean, use a soft brush, mild detergent, and warm water.

Rhodonite can be found in various locations throughout the world.  Where it is sourced will play a part in its color and distinctive qualities.

Gemstone Trivia

Rhodonite is the official gemstone of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

‘For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him and for him
Colossians 1:16

Stretch Cord

Beads are strung on an elastic stretch cord to ensure comfortable wear and durability.  Most importantly the cords are glued with a strong adhesive to prevent breakage.
